PSCC 2018 Game Night Kick Off!
Summer is coming.
As the rest of the world retreats and forgets until November that Coachella Valley ever existed, we locals remain, sweltering in the heat, forsaken of all but the most modest of comforts. As merciless sunlight persists on into the evening hours and electric bills soar we turn to each other and ask the age old question that until now remained rhetorical:
What do you want to do tonight?
PSCC, knows your pain. We are your pain. We come into your home at night and sprinkle Legos on your floor because we too, have nothing better to do after work. Sure, you can take out a payday loan and see a movie, but you can only do that once so make sure it’s a good one. I recommend Show Dogs.
Interest rates on loans are high and there’s only so many talking dog movies starring Ludacris this summer, so why not come on down to Game Night at the Desert Oasis?! It’s free to enter, which is one of the most unique phrases ever typed about a Coachella Valley event! Seriously, name me something to do in the desert during the summer that’s free other than shamble aimlessly through an abandoned field? Besides, the only game that field has is “Run From the Man with the Pick Axe” and “Don’t Get Bit by that Snake”. We feature games with a 98% survival rate! Board games, card games, table top games, and Lana Del Rey’s favorite, video games! Bring your own or come empty handed because your mother won’t let the devil’s games in the house. If you want to make things a little spicy, we’ll also have buy-in tournaments with prizes and cash prizes!
Did I mention snacks?
Oh, you didn’t think we would forget the snacks did you? What’s the point of living life without some delicious umami and a hand of Oregon Trail? Did you know that’s a card game now? It is and it’s just as impossible as its 1990’s PC predecessor. You know how I know that? Because I played it at Game Night and then gave up and played Heroes vs. Villains. I made some friends at that table. I met a guy named Todd and made him my “in case of Emergency” based on one of his answers. He’s a real stand up fellow that Todd.
So come and join us! Play games, eat snacks and dance like no one is watching! Except we all are, you’re the only one dancing you great goon. This is Game Night, not my Step Up appreciation party. All ages welcome, so long as they don’t eat the Monopoly pieces. I’m looking at you Todd.
Come join us and witness first hand that my competitive nature knows no bounds!
